About the Role
We’re looking for a strategic and hands-on Head of SHEQ to lead our safety, environmental, and quality agenda across both factory and site operations. You\’ll work closely with senior stakeholders to embed a high-performance SHEQ culture, lead compliance efforts, and drive continuous improvement across a busy manufacturing and project-based environment.
What You\’ll Do
- Develop and lead SHEQ strategy aligned with business objectives and ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001)
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation, including CDM
- Oversee internal audits, inspections, and management systems, driving corrective actions where needed
- Lead a team of SHEQ professionals covering health, safety, environmental and quality disciplines
- Act as the primary contact for regulatory bodies and certification audits
- Support tendering and client-facing activities with SHEQ documentation and expertise
- Lead proactive training, induction, and safety culture initiatives across factory, site, and subcontractors
- Champion occupational health and wellbeing across the workforce
- Monitor environmental impact, sustainability KPIs, and support the business journey to Net Zero
- Work cross-functionally with Operations, Manufacturing, HR, and Project teams to maintain high SHEQ standards
What We\’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a senior HSEQ/SHEQ role within manufacturing, construction, or engineering
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent), IOSH membership, and Lead Auditor qualifications (ISO 9001/14001/45001) preferred
- A collaborative and confident leader with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Deep understanding of health risk management, environmental compliance, and quality control processes
- Comfortable working across strategic planning and hands-on delivery
- Track record of influencing positive safety culture and continuous improvement
