Consortium Professional Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with our client to appoint a Senior Earthing Project Engineer. This unique opportunity puts you at the forefront of electrical safety, delivering innovative and compliant solutions for some of the UK’s most critical energy and infrastructure projects. Working within a dynamic and collaborative engineering team, this role gives you the chance to influence national projects in energy, rail, defence and renewables, while mentoring the next generation of engineers. Our client fosters an inclusive and hybrid-friendly environment with remote options available for the right person.
The Opportunity:
- Developing innovative earthing and lightning protection system designs using CDEGS and related software
- Leading the design and analysis of electrical safety systems at substations, power stations (including nuclear), rail, MOD and renewable sites
- Mentoring and guiding Graduate and Project Engineers to strengthen team capability
- Carrying out site-based surveys and resistivity testing across the UK as needed
- Collaborating with clients to understand technical requirements, produce reports and ensure regulatory compliance
Your work will directly contribute to the safety and compliance of essential infrastructure that keeps the UK powered and protected.
About You:
- A honours degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Experience with CDEGS software and earthing system design across multiple project types
- Field testing and site survey experience, with strong technical report writing skills
- Proven knowledge of high-voltage systems, ideally from 275kV to 400kV
- An analytical, solutions-focused mindset with excellent verbal and written communication
- Ideally, progress towards IEng or CEng status and experience in mentoring junior engineers
- You’ll also be confident presenting to clients, able to scope projects and be comfortable applying strong electrical theory to real-world challenges.
