An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Director to join a well-established international manufacturing business with a significant UK operation and a strong reputation within its sector. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and working closely with group stakeholders, the Finance Director will provide leadership across all aspects of finance while supporting the wider business in delivering its commercial, operational and strategic objectives.

This is a broad leadership role that combines financial stewardship with commercial partnership. It will suit an individual who enjoys operating close to the business, influencing decision-making and supporting long-term growth through clear financial insight and robust financial control.

The Role

As Finance Director, you will lead an established finance function while acting as a trusted adviser to the Managing Director and wider Executive leadership team.

  • Providing strategic financial leadership across the business
  • Supporting the development and delivery of business plans, budgets and forecasts
  • Delivering meaningful financial reporting and analysis to support decision-making
  • Driving accountability and performance through improved visibility of financial and operational metrics
  • Supporting significant capital investment and business improvement initiatives
  • Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, controls and governance processes
  • Leading the preparation of management accounts, statutory accounts and group reporting requirements
  • Developing and mentoring the finance team to support future business needs
  • Working collaboratively with operational, commercial and support functions across the organisation
  • Building effective relationships with both local and group stakeholders

The role offers a genuine opportunity to contribute beyond finance, providing input into business planning, operational performance and strategic decision-making.

The Person

We are keen to speak with commercially minded finance leaders who can demonstrate a balance of strategic thinking and operational delivery.

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
  • Significant experience in a senior finance leadership position
  • Previous experience within manufacturing, engineering or a related industrial environment
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to translate financial information into practical business insight
  • Experience operating within a group or matrix reporting structure
  • The ability to influence and build credibility across all levels of an organisation
  • Strong leadership skills with experience developing and managing finance teams
  • Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Experience supporting multi-site operations, M&A process as well as capital investment projects would be advantageous.
