Stores Manager

Are you an organised, hands-on leader who enjoys improving processes and helping teams succeed? Consortium Professional Recruitment are pleased to be partnering with an established manufacturing business in Hull to recruit a Stores Manager who can bring fresh ideas, structure and a practical approach to its stores operation.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a key function, lead a close-knit team of three and help shape future ways of working. With plans to develop its ERP systems, the business offers genuine scope to influence improvements and make a visible difference.

The Opportunity: As a Stores Manager, you’ll play a key role in:

  • Leading and supporting a team of three, creating an organised, efficient and collaborative stores environment.

  • Managing stock and materials, overseeing goods-in, inventory accuracy, cycle counts, stocktakes and effective storage and traceability.

  • Supporting manufacturing operations, ensuring components, kits and sub-assembly packs are prepared accurately and available when needed.

  • Improving processes and systems, maintaining reliable MRP records, identifying opportunities to reduce inefficiencies and introducing practical improvements.

  • Working across departments, collaborating with Production and Purchasing while contributing to future ERP implementation plans and maintaining safe working practices.

Your work will directly contribute to reliable production schedules, improved stock accuracy and a more efficient manufacturing operation, giving you the opportunity to see the results of your ideas in action.

About You

We’re looking for someone who can bring:

  • Experience in stores, warehouse or inventory management within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

  • Experience supervising or leading a small team, with a willingness to remain involved in day-to-day activities.

  • A sound understanding of stock control, goods-in processes, material movements and manufacturing kitting requirements.

  • Confidence using MRP or inventory management systems, alongside a methodical approach to maintaining accurate records.

  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and introduce meaningful improvements.

  • Ideally, familiarity with Sage, ERP systems, bills of materials, cycle counting or lean/5S principles. Experience supporting system improvements would also be valuable.

Benefits and Package

In return, you’ll enjoy:

  • £35,000 – £38,000 per annum, depending on experience.

  • The opportunity to take ownership of an important operational function within an established manufacturing business.

  • A varied, hands-on leadership role with the freedom to introduce improvements and develop existing processes.

  • Involvement in future ERP system development, offering valuable experience in operational change.

  • A supportive, close-knit working environment where your contribution and ideas can make a genuine difference.
