Consortium Professional Recruitment are working with an established and growing engineering supplies business to recruit an Internal Sales Advisor to join their team. This is a varied role where you’ll manage customer enquiries, support existing accounts and work closely with colleagues across the wider sales function. Previous experience within engineering or technical products would be an advantage, but it certainly isn’t essential. What matters most is that you’re confident dealing with customers, organised in your approach and keen to learn.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing customer enquiries received by telephone and email, from initial request through to order processing.
  • Looking after a portfolio of customer accounts and developing strong, positive working relationships.
  • Preparing quotations and ensuring customers receive accurate and competitive information.
  • Keeping customers updated on orders, availability and delivery timescales.
  • Monitoring outstanding and back orders and helping resolve any issues that arise.
  • Raising purchase orders and supporting the purchasing process where required.
  • Working closely with the external sales team to identify and support customer opportunities.
  • Assisting with tenders, promotions and other sales activity across the business.

You’ll become an important point of contact for customers and play a key part in ensuring they receive a responsive, reliable and professional service.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in internal sales, sales administration, account support, customer service or a similar commercial environment.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with customers by telephone and email.
  • The ability to build lasting relationships and understand individual customer requirements.
  • A well-organised approach, with good attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple enquiries and priorities effectively.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership of customer queries.
  • A team-focused approach and a genuine commitment to delivering excellent service.
  • Experience within engineering, industrial supplies, distribution or technical products would be beneficial, although full product knowledge is not expected from day one.

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary from £30,000 per annum.
  • Full-time, permanent employment, working 40 hours per week.
  • One Saturday morning in every four, paid as overtime.
  • 25 days’ annual leave, plus an additional day off for your birthday.
  • Company pension.
  • Death in Service benefit.
