The Opportunity

  • Leading the development and implementation of health, safety and environmental standards across all UK sites
  • Driving full compliance with HSE legislation, internal standards and Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) requirements
  • Developing and managing the HSE team, embedding a collaborative and proactive culture
  • Conducting internal audits, overseeing risk assessments and implementing safe systems of work in coordination with operational teams
  • Acting as the subject matter expert to senior leadership on HSE matters, identifying risks, reporting RIDDOR incidents and leading investigations
  • Identifying and coordinating all necessary training and certification, supporting continuous learning and capability across teams
  • Ensuring new starters, contractors and site visitors are fully inducted and compliant, issuing permits to work and reviewing contractor documentation
  • Providing hands‐on support and coaching to operational teams to embed a proactive approach to health, safety and environmental management
  • Monitoring and maintaining environmental records, ensuring site compliance with permits and supporting sustainability initiatives

About You

  • At least 3 years experience in an HSE Manager role, ideally across multi‐site manufacturing environments
  • Proven experience leading a team and managing senior stakeholder relationships
  • Excellent knowledge of UK HSE legislation, with practical application across operations
  • A NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent recognised qualification in occupational health and safety
  • A passion for training and a track record of coaching, training and mentoring
  • Strong organisational, communication and influencing skills
  • Desirable: Train‐the‐Trainer qualification and/or Certificate in Environmental Management
