Consortium Professional Recruitment are pleased to be working with our client to recruit a Materials Controller for an established manufacturing operation in Hull. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative supply chain team where your work will have a direct impact on production continuity, stock availability and customer service.

As Materials Controller, you will take responsibility for ordering components and factored products, managing inventory and working closely with suppliers and internal teams including Finance, Sales, Product Management and R&D. You will have the autonomy to manage priorities while contributing to continuous improvement across the wider supply chain.

The Opportunity:

  • Placing purchase orders, monitoring progress and rescheduling requirements where needed to maintain appropriate stock levels and support production continuity.
  • Analysing material usage, demand and supply chain complexity to help establish effective inventory levels.
  • Working collaboratively with vendors to improve supply performance, availability and reliability.
  • Supporting new product introductions, product cessation activity and financial period-end processes.
  • Investigating stock inaccuracies and helping identify practical solutions that improve inventory accuracy.

Your work will directly contribute to maintaining reliable material availability, supporting customer service levels and strengthening supply chain performance across the business.

About You:

  • At least two years’ experience in inventory management, purchasing and master data functions.
  • A strong understanding and experience of MRP systems.
  • The ability to organise and prioritise your own workload effectively in a busy, deadline-driven environment.
  • Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with colleagues and suppliers.
  • You will also bring a collaborative approach, curiosity and a willingness to learn.
