Consortium Professional Recruitment are pleased to be supporting a well-established and successful food manufacturing business in the appointment of a Maintenance Compliance Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer or Engineering Supervisor looking to move away from a predominantly hands-on role into a position with greater ownership, responsibility and influence.
Working closely with the Engineering Manager and Senior Leadership Team, the Maintenance Compliance Engineer will play a vital role in maintaining engineering compliance, supporting operational excellence and helping to drive continuous improvement across a busy manufacturing site. This is a varied role where no two days are the same, offering genuine opportunities to develop your career within a forward-thinking business.
The Opportunity:
- Leading engineering compliance activities to ensure the site meets internal standards and external legislative requirements.
- Driving remedial actions following internal and external audits while supporting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Managing contractor compliance, approved contractor systems and supporting customer audits.
- Overseeing critical engineering safety programmes including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Confined Space, Working at Height, Electrical Safety and Workplace Transport.
- Supporting engineering operations through project involvement, maintenance planning, purchase order management, breakdown support and contributing to future capital investment plans.
Your work will directly contribute to maintaining a safe, compliant and high-performing manufacturing operation while supporting long-term business success.
About You:
- Apprentice trained or NVQ Level 3 qualified (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing maintenance environment, ideally FMCG or food manufacturing, either as a Maintenance Engineer or Engineering Supervisor.
- Experience managing engineering projects and delivering successful outcomes.
- A strong understanding of engineering compliance, health and safety legislation and manufacturing standards.
- Knowledge of contractor management and engineering audit processes would be advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a methodical and analytical approach.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative approach with the confidence to build positive working relationships across all levels of the business.
