Head of Supply Chain & Logistics in Hessle

Consortium Professional Recruitment are pleased to be working with our client to recruit an experienced Head of Supply Chain for a key leadership position within a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment. This is an opportunity to take ownership across planning, stock control, logistics and export operations. You will lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team while using data, lean principles and continuous improvement to strengthen service, efficiency and supply chain performance. The Opportunity: As a Head of Supply Chain you’ll play a key role in: • Leading production and material planning, ensuring raw materials and finished goods are in the right place at the right time while supporting efficient production and service levels. • Managing stock control, WIP and inventory processes, with a focus on accuracy, rotation, traceability, quality and effective use of space. • Overseeing logistics, intake and despatch operations, including 3PL, booking processes and the timely movement of goods. • Leading, coaching and developing teams across planning, stock control and logistics, building capability through clear objectives, regular reviews and succession planning. • Using KPIs, forecasting, capacity modelling and continuous improvement principles to identify opportunities to improve performance, control costs and support future business requirements. Your work will directly contribute to a safe, efficient and responsive operation, helping the wider business maintain strong customer service, quality standards and sustainable supply chain performance. About You: We’re looking for someone who can bring: • Experience within an FMCG manufacturing environment, alongside practical supply chain experience covering areas such as export, demand planning, supply planning and inventory. • Strong working knowledge of modern manufacturing, material flow, inventory planning and control, lean principles, continuous improvement and demand-driven MRP. • Confidence working with operational data, KPIs and reporting, supported by strong numerical, analytical and Microsoft Excel skills. • The ability to build constructive relationships across different functions and with external partners, communicating plans, priorities and challenges clearly. • A collaborative and supportive leadership style, with experience developing people, improving performance and creating a positive working environment. A CIPS qualification would be desirable rather than essential. If you meet most of the requirements but not every point, we would still encourage you to apply.
