Consortium Professional Recruitment is delighted to be working exclusively with a well-established manufacturing business as they look to appoint an Electrical Design Engineer to join their Hull-based team. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a collaborative and forward-thinking design team, where you’ll contribute to the development and continuous improvement of bespoke electrical systems for a range of complex build projects.
The role offers variety, technical challenge, and a platform for long-term progression within a business known for innovation and investment in its people.
Key Responsibilities:- Produce 2D wiring diagrams, 3D layouts, and assembly drawings
- Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Work from job specs to develop electrical systems for build and assembly
- Ensure all designs align with internal standards and regulatory guidelines
- Liaise with production, engineering, and R&D teams to ensure smooth project flow
- Support drawing updates for continuous improvement and product development
- Assist during live production to clarify design intent and resolve issues
- 3–5 years’ experience in an electrical design role (ideally within a manufacturing or assembly environment)
- Proficiency with AutoCAD 2021
- Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of electrical principles and system design
- Excellent communicator and confident working cross-functionally
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously
- Working knowledge of Health & Safety and relevant compliance requirements
- Circa £40,000 depending on experience
- 40-hour working week (Monday–Friday, days)
- 32 days annual leave (including bank holidays)
