Consortium Professional Recruitment are pleased to be working with an established process and manufacturing business to recruit a Days Maintenance Engineer. This is a permanent, Monday to Friday position for someone who enjoys being hands-on, solving mechanical problems and keeping plant and equipment performing reliably.

The role has a strong mechanical focus, covering planned and reactive maintenance across a varied operational site. You will work on equipment including pumps, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, tanks and associated process equipment, with welding and fabrication also forming part of the role.

The Opportunity:

  • Carrying out planned preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance, identifying faults and completing effective repairs.
  • Maintaining and improving pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, tanks, motors and other mechanical and process equipment.
  • Using your welding and fabrication skills to repair, modify and support equipment, components and installations around the site.
  • Responding to breakdowns, helping identify root causes and supporting practical improvements that increase equipment reliability.
  • Working closely with operations and the wider engineering team to prioritise maintenance safely and minimise disruption to production.
  • Your work will directly contribute to improving plant reliability, reducing downtime and helping the wider team maintain a safe and effective engineering operation.

About You:

  • A mechanical engineering background gained within manufacturing, production, process engineering, heavy industry or a similarly hands-on environment.
  • Practical experience of mechanical fault finding, maintenance and repair across industrial plant and equipment.
  • Experience working with equipment such as pumps, valves, conveyors, gearboxes, motors, tanks or similar mechanical systems.
  • Ideally Welding and fabrication experience, whether developed through maintenance, fabrication, installation or site-based engineering work. Candidates looking to build on a strong fabrication background and develop further within maintenance are also encouraged to apply.
  • An engineering qualification or equivalent practical industrial/manufacturing experience.
