Maintenance Compliance Engineer

As a Maintenance Compliance Engineer you will play a key role in

  • Leading engineering compliance activities to ensure the site meets internal standards and external legislative requirements.
  • Driving remedial actions following internal and external audits while supporting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Managing contractor compliance, approved contractor systems and supporting customer audits.
  • Overseeing critical engineering safety programmes including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Confined Space, Working at Height, Electrical Safety and Workplace Transport.
  • Supporting engineering operations through project involvement, maintenance planning, purchase order management, breakdown support and contributing to future capital investment plans.

Qualifications

  • Apprentice trained or NVQ Level 3 qualified (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing maintenance environment, ideally FMCG or food manufacturing, either as a Maintenance Engineer or Engineering Supervisor.
  • Experience managing engineering projects and delivering successful outcomes.
  • A strong understanding of engineering compliance, health and safety legislation and manufacturing standards.
  • Knowledge of contractor management and engineering audit processes would be advantageous.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills with a methodical and analytical approach.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads in a fast‑paced environment.
  • A collaborative approach with the confidence to build positive working relationships across all levels of the business.
