Leeds Women’s Aid (LWA) provides services for victims of domestic violence and abuse, honour‑based violence, forced marriage, trafficking, stalking and harassment and leads the Leeds Domestic Violence Service (LDVS).

Role Overview

Working in partnership with LDVS partners and external organisations, and based on successful, peer support and co‑production engagement methods, this role is focused on amplifying the voices of LGBTQ+ victim‑survivors.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and develop opportunities for LGBTQ+ victim‑survivors to engage in project activities guided by the Domestic Abuse Local Partnership Board (DALPB).
  • Support the development of citywide focus groups or participate and communicate with established groups. The aim is to hear the voices of LGBTQ+ victim‑survivors and share learning.

Team & Management

You will be part of a small team of Engagement Workers, coordinated by the Voices Manager at LWA, who facilitate the voices of adults of all genders, children and young people to take part, co‑produce project activities, present and influence decision making at the DALPB. This role will be based in MESMAC and focuses on working with LGBTQ+ victim/survivors.

Salary & Contract

Salary: ÂŁ26,915 FTE pro rata over 18.5 hours per week. Actual salary ÂŁ14,226.50. This is an employment contract until 31st March 2029. Salary is reviewed annually. There is a 5% workplace pension (on completion of probationary period). This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS with barred lists check.
