We are seeking LGBTQ+ global-majority and/or migrant individuals (18+) based in London to take part in Queer Global, an oral history and documentary project exploring themes of migration, identity formation, belonging, and community. Participants will be invited to share their lived experiences on camera in a supportive, respectful interview setting. This is not an acting role β€” no previous media experience is required. We are simply looking for people who are open to reflecting on their personal journey and how their identity has been shaped by culture, place, and queerness.

By global majority, we mean people from Black, Asian, Brown, Indigenous, or ethnically diverse backgrounds. By migrant, we mean anyone who has moved to London from another country to live, work, study, or seek residency.

What’s involved:

  • A filmed oral history interview at our studio in Hounslow, West London.
  • Optional pre-interview conversation (online) to help you feel prepared.
  • Travel and lunch expenses covered.
  • Your story archived at the Bishopsgate Institute as part of a public heritage collection.
  • Potential inclusion in our social content and feature-length documentary.

Who this is for:

  • LGBTQ+ people aged 18+.
  • London-based and able to travel to Hounslow.
  • Global-majority and/or migrant backgrounds.
  • Willing to share personal experiences around identity, culture, and belonging.

This project centres care, consent, and community ownership of stories. Participants will be guided throughout the process, and you will have the opportunity to ask questions before taking part.

If you’re interested, please complete the Expression of Interest form. Your story matters β€” and deserves to be preserved.
