Job Summary: Reporting to the Fleet Manager, you will control day-to-day operations of Offshore Support Vessels (OSV), ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective vessel management while supporting marketing and operational functions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead navigation standard enforcement on board vessels to ensure safe and compliant operations.
- Ensure vessels fulfill all charter party obligations safely and efficiently to meet contractual requirements.
- Oversee vessel repairs and maintenance, optimizing cost-effectiveness and operational readiness.
- Monitor and track vessels’ planned maintenance systems, coordinating with managers and superintendents to ensure timely progress.
- Verify vessels comply with statutory and classification requirements by maintaining up-to-date certificates and arranging surveys promptly.
- Review and analyze vessels’ daily position and work reports to support operational decision-making.
- Approve procurement of vessel stores, spares, and consumables to maintain operational efficiency.
- Authorize appointment of agents and agencies to support vessel operations.
- Manage and control operational matters for overseas entities to ensure alignment with company standards.
- Maintain and oversee inventory of stores and spares in warehouses and open storage for availability and cost control.
- Implement and monitor cost control mechanisms to manage fleet expenses effectively.
- Participate actively in accident and incident investigations and lead team reviews to improve safety outcomes.
- Maintain and enforce the Company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System (HSEMS) and charterers’ requirements.
- Serve as a member of the HSEMS Review and Management Review Team to support continuous improvement.
- Lead the Shore Base Emergency Response Team to coordinate emergency preparedness and response.
- Monitor and control the allocated fleet budget to ensure financial discipline.
- Conduct recruitment interviews for deck and engineering personnel to build a competent crew.
- Act as the primary liaison with shipbuilding units to coordinate vessel construction and modifications.
Preferred competencies and qualifications:
- Degree in Marine or Offshore field is preferred.
- Master Class 1 Certificate of Competency.
