The Medical Writer produces scientifically accurate, well‑written and engaging print and digital content (including news/feature articles, client‑commissioned project articles, e‑newsletters, and videos) for MIMS Doctor and MIMS Oncology magazines as well as specialty channels of MIMS.com – the most trusted sources of medical information for healthcare professionals in Asia.
Job Responsibilities:
- Write scientifically accurate and clinically relevant news/feature articles based on press releases, press conferences, papers published in local/international medical journals, presentations delivered at local/international medical conferences/webinars, and interviews with leading medical experts, for a target audience comprising various medical specialties.
- Identify topics of clinical relevance and interest to the above target audience.
- Produce content for print and digital projects (including articles, e‑newsletters and videos) based on presentations delivered at local/international medical conferences/webinars, interviews with leading medical experts, and papers published in local/international medical journals, according to project brief.
- Ensure scientific accuracy of writing, and alignment of project content with project brief and feedback.
- Manage assigned projects independently to ensure alignment with content brief and timely delivery.
- Attend events, including press conferences, scientific symposia/webinars, and local/international medical conferences (after‑hours and weekend attendance occasionally required).
- Prepare for and conduct interviews with leading medical experts in various specialties for content development.
Requirements: (Must have)
- A recognized degree in life science or healthcare, with knowledge in various therapeutic areas.
- Excellent English writing and editing.
- Ability to produce scientifically accurate and engaging content for print and digital media, with a high level of attention to details.
- 1–2 years of experience in medical writing in a publication or communication agency setting.
- Ability to present scientific data in engaging and well‑structured articles in alignment with project brief.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while working under tight timelines.
- Ability to communicate and conduct interviews with leading medical experts in English.
- Excellent team spirit and a collaborative, solution‑oriented approach in resolving issues.
- Interest in medical innovation and healthcare, and the ability to identify and report relevant news.
- Good organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
