The Classroom Assistant supports teachers and the school team to deliver quality learning by supervising children, maintaining classroom routines, assisting with hygiene and safety, and fostering a warm, inclusive environment in a trilingual international school.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome children into the classroom at the start of each day to create a positive arrival experience.
  • Supervise and accompany children during recess, meals, activities, and nap times to ensure safety and well-being.
  • Assist children with dressing, undressing, and changing to promote their autonomy development.
  • Prepare snacks and mealtimes and provide assistance as needed during these times.
  • Enforce personal hygiene and safety rules in classrooms, corridors, stairs, playground, and other relevant areas.
  • Clean, tidy, and store school equipment throughout the day and at day’s end to maintain an organized environment.
  • Maintain classroom organization and procedures by preparing and supervising activities, managing stationery, and storing student work as directed by the teacher.
  • Implement preventative safety measures to reduce accidents in classrooms and school areas.
  • Encourage and reinforce children’s positive attitudes and behaviors through consistent support.
  • Refer parents to teachers for specific concerns about education, welfare, social-emotional development, or student interactions.
  • Participate actively in meetings and training sessions as scheduled by the school.
  • Support the introduction and transition of new classroom routines and procedures as the school evolves.
  • Contribute to creating a warm, multilingual, and inclusive classroom environment aligned with the school’s mission and values.
