Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the technical integrity and operational readiness of a fleet of managed yachts.
  • Providing daily engineering support, managing defect reports, and guiding the implementation of planned maintenance routines.
  • Preparing for and supervising refits, drydockings, and regulatory surveys.
  • Acting as a central point of contact for crew, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure vessels remain compliant, seaworthy, and efficient.
  • Regular international travel expected—often at short notice—for vessel inspections, project oversight, and stakeholder meetings.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Chief Engineer or in a technical shore‑based role (such as Technical Superintendent, Naval Architect, Class Surveyor, or Refit/Project Manager).
  • Proven experience within the yachting sector is essential.
  • Sound working knowledge of international maritime regulations including SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, IACS, REG Code and various flag state requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a structured and clear reporting style.
  • Comfortable using MS Office and familiar with PMS platforms and yacht management tools such as MMV.
  • Strong coordination, mediation and multitasking abilities, with a problem‑solving mindset.
