Consortio have partnered with a leading provider of marine consulting, expert witness services and marine surveying services. They currently have a team of highly professional and experienced employees including Master Mariners, Chief Engineers and Naval Architects. The company has been running for over 10 years and they have a great understanding of what the market demands and working very closely with clients to understand their needs. With offices worldwide they ensure that they are able to assist clients anywhere in the world.

Due to their ongoing success they are looking for a Master Mariner/ Expert Witness to join their team. As a Master Mariner/ Expert Witness you will be carrying out investigation and assessments relating to Master Mariner Matters and performing surveys. You will be conducting a number of different types of surveys including collision investigations, machinery failure surveys, forensic investigations, P&I surveys and Hull and Machinery damage surveys. You will need to produce letters and reports according to your findings and also provide expert evidence in court and arbitration.

To be eligible for this role you need to:

  • Have the right to live and work in the UK or Singapore
  • Have sailed to a senior rank of Master Mariner onboard container vessels or cargo vessels
  • Have held a valid COC
  • Good communication skills
  • Have expert witness experience and casualty investigation skills
  • Speak English like it is a first language even if it is not
