Our client is a respected UK-based organisation operating a large fleet of specialist marine vessels used in demanding offshore conditions. With a strong reputation for technical innovation and public service, they design, build, and maintain advanced boats and associated equipment to the highest international standards.

They are now seeking a Safety Engineer to join their engineering team. In this role, you will develop and maintain the organisation’s safety‑case framework for all marine assets, ensure regulatory compliance across the fleet, and liaise directly with classification societies, flag administrations, and other certifying bodies. You will provide expert guidance to senior stakeholders and duty holders, safeguarding both people and vessels in a high‑risk maritime environment.

To be eligible for this role you must:

  • Demonstrated experience in the development and management of safety cases within a maritime or other safety‑critical engineering setting.
  • Strong background in regulatory compliance, including engagement with classification societies or flag state authorities.
  • Formal training or professional experience as a Safety Engineer, with an accredited engineering or safety‑management qualification (Chartered Engineer or equivalent desirable).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders and cross‑functional teams.

Desirable: familiarity with UK or Irish workboat codes, experience in designing or operating fast‑response or offshore support vessels, and risk‑management certification (IOSH or equivalent).
