Consortio is working with a global leader in communications technology to recruit a Field Service Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business that provides critical services across the maritime, defence and commercial sectors.

In this role you’ll be responsible for installing, commissioning, repairing and supporting advanced communication and IT systems, while acting as a trusted technical partner to clients around the world. Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out field service, repairs, testing and commissioning of communication and IT equipment.
  • Conducting both standard and bespoke installations to meet client requirements.
  • Preparing tools, test equipment, spares and materials ahead of mobilisation.
  • Liaising with customers before and during assignments to provide expert advice and updates.
  • Producing detailed technical reports to support continuous improvement.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Promptly returning unused or defective parts with correct documentation.
  • Supporting the workshop with datacoms and satcom repairs, builds and testing.
  • Conducting GMDSS surveys.
  • Managing personal travel.
  • Ensuring equipment, vehicles and IT tools are kept in good working order.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience in a communications or IT engineering role.
  • Strong technical knowledge with the ability to diagnose and repair complex systems.
  • Presentable, articulate and confident in liaising with clients and technical staff.
  • Clean UK driving licence.
  • Certifications such as GMDSS, GOC, and Offshore Survival (BOSIET & OLF) advantageous.
  • Eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC or DV).
  • Willing to travel regularly, including at short notice.
