Our Client specializes in delivering temporary and permanent mooring solutions for floating offshore units. They provide a fully integrated service—ranging from system design and analysis, equipment supply and management, to all aspects of installation operations. With headquarters in Aberdeen and a dedicated quayside base in Montrose, their experienced team consistently strives to deliver the highest levels of service and support to their clients.

My client is seeking a talented and driven engineer to join the Renewable Department in a primarily shore-based role located in Glasgow. You will undertake detailed engineering work alongside product development and R&D activities to support departmental objectives. The role will also involve client interaction, project assessments, and tendering support. Occasional offshore visits and international travel may be required for client meetings, conferences, or on-site assignments.

Performing detailed engineering analysis and design work for renewable energy projects. Supporting product development and R&D initiatives and assessing projects and providing technical input for tendering processes.

Essential Qualifications and Skills
  • Degree in a numerical discipline such as Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Naval Architecture, Structural Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience applying computational methods to solve real-world problems, including proficiency in software such as Orcaflex, FEA, CFD, or similar tools.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience (pre- or post-graduate) in industries such as renewable energy, oil and gas, or marine engineering.
  • Experience in fields such as Wind Turbine Analysis, Riser Analysis, Offshore Installation, or Structural Analysis.
  • Progress toward relevant professional qualifications such as CEng.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python or Matlab.
  • Familiarity with engineering software packages such as Rhino, Strand7, Ansys, or SolidWorks.
