Backend Developer | Node.js | Hybrid (London)
Are you ready to join a high-growth, award-winning tech scale-up building real-time immersive visualisation platforms powered by 3D and AI?
This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment where your skills will directly impact the development of high-performance backend systems. You’ll be joining a tight-knit engineering team and working on the latest iteration of a platform that’s genuinely changing the game in its space.
We’re looking for a solid mid-to-senior Backend Developer to build scalable, efficient APIs and backend infrastructure. It’s 100% backend (no frontend expectations), and ideal for someone who enjoys clean architecture, optimised systems, and getting stuck into robust backend services. You’ll thrive here if you’ve previously worked in a start-up or scale-up, love working in a fast-moving team, adapt easily to change, and want to grow in a culture that values innovation, autonomy, and hands-on impact. It\’s not a corporate environment.
What you’ll be doing:
You’ll be designing, building, and maintaining robust backend services using Node.js, with a strong focus on performance and scalability. Day to day, you\’ll be writing efficient SQL queries, optimising PostgreSQL performance, and developing clean, scalable RESTful APIs. You\’ll collaborate closely with DevOps, frontend, and data teams, ensuring seamless integration across the platform. Testing, profiling, and maintaining well-documented code will also form a key part of your role, helping to ensure reliability and maintainability as the platform evolves.
What we’re looking for:
Strong skills in PostgreSQL (and optionally MongoDB)
Experience building and scaling REST APIs
Familiarity with Git workflows and clean coding practices
Comfortable in a start-up-like, collaborative environment
