- Senior Product Manager – Digital / Software
- Sheffield | Hybrid | 9 month contract - Outside IR35
Consortia is supporting a growing UK technology business looking for an experienced Interim Product Manager to bring senior product expertise, stability and hands‑on delivery capability to its established product function.
This isn't a consultancy assignment where you'll arrive, write recommendations and move on.
You'll become part of the team, working alongside the Product Director, Product Managers, engineering teams and wider stakeholders to keep existing roadmaps moving while identifying practical opportunities to make things better.
The emphasis is very much evolution rather than revolution .
The Opportunity
You'll be joining a technology business that has grown significantly and now employs around 180 people.
Its technology supports approximately 10,000 funeral directors across more than 300 UK locations, with its platforms involved in over 350,000 services each year.
The wider product ecosystem includes digital platforms, media management and tribute creation, service playback and control software, streaming and recording technology, digital memorialisation, installed AV systems and emerging immersive venue technology.
With an experienced member of the digital product team moving on, you'll provide additional senior software product expertise while permanent recruitment takes place.
The contract is expected to run for up to nine months, giving you the opportunity to provide continuity while contributing meaningfully to the client's longer‑term product roadmap.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll quickly get to know the client's customers, products, people and existing ways of working before taking a hands‑on role across its digital and software portfolio.
You'll
- Deliver against existing and evolving product roadmaps.
- Work closely with engineering teams to move software initiatives through delivery.
- Use Jira and Confluence as part of day‑to‑day product delivery.
- Work alongside the Product Director and wider product team on roadmap priorities.
- Speak directly with customers and bring their needs into product decisions.
- Bridge the gap between product, engineering, internal stakeholders and users.
- Contribute your own ideas and identify practical opportunities for improvement.
- Bring product management best practice without unnecessarily disrupting what's already working.
- Provide experienced product input within a team containing different levels of product management experience.
You'll be joining an evolving environment where every process may not yet be perfect.
You'll have the freedom to suggest improvements, but you'll also understand when it's better to work with an existing approach and keep delivery moving.
What You'll Bring
You'll be an experienced Product Manager with a strong software and digital background who is comfortable becoming productive quickly in an established team.
Recent experience working with
Government Design Principles / Government Digital Service environments is essential , as the client's software has been designed around these principles.
You'll also bring
- Proven software and digital product delivery experience.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Jira and Confluence.
- Experience working closely with engineering teams.
- Roadmap management and prioritisation experience.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- A genuinely customer‑focused approach and willingness to meet users.
- The ability to work effectively in an evolving product environment.
- A pragmatic, collaborative and delivery‑focused approach.
Working knowledge of Salesforce would be useful, but isn't essential.
