Responsibilities

  • The work is varied each day, but responsibilities typically include activities such as exploring user challenges through structured research methods including interviews, journey mapping, market comparisons, focus groups and data analysis.
  • You will design and deliver full technical solutions and user-facing experiments that address identified pain points, taking ownership of the implementation and the results.
  • Regular incremental releases into production form a key part of the workflow, using safe techniques such as feature flagging to introduce improvements step by step.
  • High standards of code quality are important, and the role involves collaborating with colleagues and contributing to code review to help maintain those standards across the team.
  • You will help shape the technical approach to new concepts and features, often beginning with concise prototypes that enable rapid feedback before moving into full development.
  • Contributions to the broader product direction are also expected, supporting the platform’s ability to grow and scale.
  • Clear documentation and well-considered monitoring will form part of your routine to support ongoing learning, system assessment and platform enhancement.

Technical Environment

  • Python for API and data development

  • React Query
  • Jest, React Testing Library and Playwright

Qualifications

  • This role is particularly well suited to an individual who naturally considers the broader product impact of their work and enjoys collaborating closely with others to shape a user-focused experience.
  • The ideal person will have genuine full-stack capability, able to design, develop and deliver features end to end while working confidently with associated infrastructure.
  • They will take an analytical approach to interpreting user behaviour and needs, consistently placing usability and clarity at the centre of their decision making.
  • Strong communication skills are important, as the position involves explaining ideas and technical considerations to colleagues across a range of disciplines.
  • A data-driven mindset will help evaluate the success of new features, highlight further opportunities and anticipate potential risks.
  • They should be able to understand how users interact with the platform in detail and suggest more intuitive visual interfaces that reduce friction and improve satisfaction.
  • Collaboration with engineering, design and product colleagues will be a core part of their working style, with rapid cycles of feedback and delivery.
