Consol is a growing national tanning brand with 57 studios nationwide, and counting. We are proud to lead the industry in safe, responsible tanning and exceptional customer experience. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a dynamic and strategic Head of Operations to help shape the next phase of our growth. This is a hybrid leadership role requiring commitment to our Bristol Head Office, regular travel across our national studio network, and the opportunity to work from home one day per week. A full UK driving licence is essential, as national travel forms a key part of this role.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Drive operational excellence across all Consol studios, ensuring consistency, compliance, commercial performance, and outstanding customer experience.
- Act as the key link between field leadership and senior management, directly managing Area Managers and supporting them to deliver high standards, strong team engagement, and measurable results.
- Lead, manage, and develop Area Managers, ensuring strong leadership capability and accountability across all regions.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on engagement, development, and retention.
- Oversee operational performance across all studios, maintaining excellence in service, maintenance, compliance, and customer experience.
- Work closely with the Chief Operating Officer to deliver operational strategy aligned with business growth objectives.
- Analyse performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety, risk management, and brand standards across all sites.
- Drive initiatives to improve profitability, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Manage budgets and reporting, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising standards.
- Maintain consistency in processes, studio presentation, signage, and customer touchpoints nationwide.
- Support new studio openings and operational integration as the business continues to expand.
Skills & Attributes
- Proven experience in a senior multi-site operational leadership role (health & beauty, leisure, retail, or similar sector preferred).
- Demonstrable people management experience leading managers and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience in driving sales performance and operational KPIs.
- Confident in performance management, coaching, and leadership development.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to translate plans into practical action.
