Operations Manager | Defence Industry UK | West Sussex
I'm currently supporting a leading engineering organisation in West Sussex that is going through an exciting period of transformation and is looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager.
This is a key leadership role for someone who enjoys improving the way things operate, leading change, and making a tangible impact across a complex manufacturing environment.
You'll be responsible for driving operational excellence across a key business function - ensuring delivery performance, improving efficiency, developing teams, and working collaboratively across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality and Finance.
The opportunity:
Own and improve day-to-day operational performance
Drive demand & supply alignment, capacity planning and delivery excellence
Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma or similar methodologies
Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality and cost performance
Support strategic initiatives and new product introductions
Lead and develop teams within a matrix organisation
Influence change and help shape the future direction of operations
The ideal background:
Strong Operations Management experience within defence, aerospace, engineering or another complex manufacturing environment
Proven experience driving operational improvements and managing change
Comfortable working with KPIs, ERP/MRP systems and performance data
A hands-on, proactive leader who can engage across all levels of an organisation
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to bring teams together around common goals
This is a fantastic opportunity for an Operations Manager who wants more than just maintaining the status quo - someone who wants to be part of meaningful change and help deliver the next stage of growth.
