We are supporting a growing Defence organisation in the search for a Project Manager to join their team. This is an opportunity for a Project Manager who enjoys being close to the customer, managing delivery, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring Defence-related projects are delivered successfully. The role sits at the intersection of project delivery, customer engagement and product support.

You’ll be responsible for managing existing projects and contracts, supporting future business, and acting as a key link between customers, internal teams, and delivery partners. This would suit someone who has worked in a Defence, Aerospace, Aviation, Military, Engineering, Training, or complex technical environment and understands the importance of delivering against customer requirements.

The Role:

  • Manage assigned projects to ensure delivery against customer requirements, timelines, and budgets.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate project activities across customer services, training, technical and support teams.
  • Maintain project plans, schedules, risks, actions, and reporting documentation.
  • Support contract management activities including amendments, change requests, and associated documentation.
  • Manage project meetings, stakeholder updates, and business reviews.
  • Track delivery milestones and support successful project outcomes.
  • Work with customers to understand requirements and communicate these effectively to internal teams.
  • Support proposal activity, workshops, industry events, and customer engagements.

About You

We are looking for someone who is proactive, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a customer-facing Defence environment. You will ideally have:

  • Proven Project Management experience within Defence, Aerospace, Aviation, Engineering, Technology, or another complex environment.
  • Experience managing customer relationships, expectations, and project delivery timelines.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience managing budgets, reporting, risks, and project documentation.
  • A structured approach to planning, organisation, and delivery.
  • Experience using tools such as Microsoft Project and/or Wiki-based project systems.
  • A recognised project management qualification (APM, PRINCE2, PMP, AgilePM or equivalent).

Desirable Experience

The following would be advantageous:

  • Previous military experience, particularly RAF, C4ISR, Combat Operations, Intelligence, Aviation, or Defence Training backgrounds.
  • Experience supporting MOD or government customers.
  • Exposure to operational training, simulation, modelling, or test & evaluation environments.
  • Experience leading teams or coordinating multi-disciplinary groups.
  • Existing SC clearance or eligibility to obtain full SC level clearance.

Working Pattern & Travel

4 days per week onsite. Up to 30% travel required across the UK, Europe, Middle East, Africa and occasionally USA.
