An automotive engineering company is looking to recruit a Group Logistics and Warehouse Manager to report directly to the Group Plant and Production Director. You will be responsible for the despatch warehouse and logistics, as well as on-site support services, ensuring that the business plans are met in the most efficient and cost-appropriate way.
Commutable from: Bicester, Milton Keynes, Bletchley, Towcester, Aylesbury, Oxford, Banbury, Northampton, Dunstable
Salary: £35,000 p.a. - £40,000 p.a. Holiday + Pension + Parking
The Role of Logistics and Warehouse Manager:
- Working hours Mon-Thu 07:30-16:45 & Fri 07:30-12:30
- Manage the business's materials, logistics and transport
- Able to motivate the team and support internal and external customers
- Identify dispatch locations and ensure accurate MRP inventory
- Ensure finished stock is located in the correct location in a timely manner
- Ensure the warehouse areas are maintained to excellent housekeeping standards
- Ensure materials supply matches production requirements
- Ensure all stores personnel are trained and work in a professional manner
- Purchase and store materials to ensure compliance with procedures
- Identify, confirm demands via MRP
- Ensure all incoming material is weighed and booked into stores in the correct procedure
- Process all goods in paperwork and update PC stock system
- Book in items from couriers and facilitate to owner
- Work closely with the planning team to ensure minimum transport costs throughout supplier base
- Ensure all labelling meets customers' expectations per stillage
- Manage logistics hauliers in/out in a timely manner
- Ensure slots for transport in/out are suitably arranged and executed
- Have Fork Lift Counter Balance and Reach Truck driving licence
- Take ownership of the warehouse area in its entirety
- Ensure all stock is correctly labelled throughout the responsible area
The Person:
- Must be a visible and active presence on the shop floor
- Carry out annual appraisals and define personnel objectives
- Must have previous managerial experience in a warehousing and logistics role within an automotive environment
- Strong working knowledge of manufacturing methods and process improvements
- Fantastic written and oral communication skills
- Excellent MS Office skills
