They are seeking a Product Compliance Engineer on a permanent and full-time basis.

The Role

The role involves assisting clients (ranging from innovative one-time inventors to world renowned organisations) with meeting their legal obligations, with a particular focus on the product safety, by assessing their products and the associated documentation.

This is a customer facing and technical role, you will be required to quickly obtain a good understanding of an extensive and ever-changing range of products, to enable you to assess their safety and function, enabling them to be placed on the EU market.

After a period of on-the-job training, your role as the Compliance Engineer will evolve in becoming a key member of the technical team, assessing products for safety, and helping to co-ordinate projects by consulting with clients. This gives you the opportunity to work on an unrivalled range of innovative products and machines.

Additionally, you will assist manufacturers with product conformity and CE Marking requirements through providing knowledge, support, and performing electrical safety assessments.

Key functions of the role include:

  • Performing electrical safety assessments (including testing where applicable) In line with electrical safety standards with training and support provided by the business.
  • Developing your skills in electrical safety compliance, particularly Low Voltage, ATEX Directives, Safety Related Parts of Control Systems & Electrical Medical Device Safety.
  • Consulting with clients, suppliers, associates, and team members as required, working as part of a delivery team.
  • Delivering technical support for product compliance, in the areas of electrical safety with support for any EMC testing as part of your ongoing professional development.

The Person

The successful candidate will possess proven experience in the electrical / electronics industry and a desire to expand their experience into CE marking and product compliance areas.

Applicants are welcomed with mechanical assembly and mechanical testing backgrounds seeking to develop a multi-skilled experience set.

The Compliance Engineer will learn and develop the skills to analyse and understand complex technical documentation, alongside an ability to write clear and concise technical reports.

You will be computer literate and a good working knowledge of MS Office, working and communicating in a highly organised and transparent manner.

This is a site-based role with some time spent at client premises across the UK. A valid driving licence and flexibility to travel are essential for the position.
