Consilium Recruit are supporting the UK National Nuclear Laboratory to recruit an Electrician. You will support maintenance, engineering works, testing and inspection of electrical system and general support for the site operations. You will be attached to the Preston facility with some travel requited to other UK NNL sites.

Commutable from: Preston, Manchester, Lancaster, Kendal, Barrow-in-Furness

Salary: GBP40,991 – GBP49,419 p.a. plus an exceptional suite of benefits including:

The Role

Main Responsibilities for Electrician:

  • Perform routine Engineering, Inspection, Maintenance & Testing on industrial plant and equipment.
  • Responsible for carrying out safe, effective, and controlled isolations of Electrical Plant.
  • Comply with company/site standards and expectations of behaviour and performance at all times.
  • Responsible for completing job cards in accordance with site standards to ensure that good quality maintenance history is recorded.
  • Perform breakdown and recovery maintenance on plant and equipment.
  • Provide support to project and improvement work.
  • Provide support to the facility in the installation, modification, and commissioning of electrical equipment.
  • Responsible for checking and fully understanding the Maintenance Instructions/Proof Tests that they are working to.

The Person

Essential Criteria:

  • Time served recognised apprenticeship in an electrical engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience in maintenance of process plant and equipment.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and work with maintenance documentation.
  • Team player with effective communication skills.
  • Flexible approach to learning new skills and self-development.
  • BSth Edition.
  • Able to travel to other UKNNL sites in the UK, typically North West region.
  • Ability to obtain SC level security clearance.
