Leading Automotive First and Second Tier supplier is seeking a Quality Manager. You will ensure the organisation achieves the required quality accreditations and standards and proactively lead the Quality Engineering team.

Commutable from: Coventry, Birmingham, Leicester, Northampton

Salary: £ Negotiable + Car Allowance + Pension.

The Role

The Quality Manager will spearhead product and process excellence within a thriving, fast-paced automotive environment.

The Quality Manager will ensure processes needed for the Quality Management System are established, implemented, and maintained and be responsible to stop processes and escalate at the appropriate level in cases of non-conformities. You will ensure product safety-related identifications and requirements are fulfilled and report the performance of the QMS to the Managing Director.

The Quality Manager will manage quality-related issues with customers and suppliers and function as the appointed Management and Customer Representative for Quality Management at site level which includes all customer-specific automotive certification including IATF.

You will ensure the implementation of adequate preventive and evaluation tools, product inspection and testing, FMEA, Poke Yoke, and robust problem-solving activities through usage of 8D processes. You will ensure that all specific issues regarding Quality are implemented and observed in line with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.

The Person

The successful candidate will possess a proven background in engineering and be able to read and interpret technical drawings. You will be well versed in managing quality engineering concerns in a busy manufacturing plant and be able to lead and influence a team of quality engineers.

The Quality Manager will possess a good awareness of engineering tools including FMEA, 8D, and Root Cause problem solving alongside proven expertise and experience auditing to IATF 16949 as a certified Lead Auditor. Some travel will be required to supplied and customer sites; this is a site-based role working Monday to Friday with a lunchtime finish on Fridays.
