As a Manager in Forensic Investigation and Expert Witness Services EMEAA, you will have 5-8 years industry experience. You will take a role in overseeing and executing complex forensic investigations, data collection, and digital forensic strategies for high-profile litigation and regulatory matters globally. You will provide strategic direction, ensuring the highest standards of forensic integrity, compliance, and operational efficiency in managing electronically stored information (ESI) from a wide variety of data sources.
In this role, you will act as an experienced advisor to both internal and external stakeholders, leveraging your technical expertise in forensic tools, investigative methodologies, and legal protocols to shape forensic preservation or investigation strategies. You will play a pivotal role in client engagements, managing expectations, guiding approaches, and overseeing seamless execution. Your responsibilities will include leading highly sensitive and high-stakes data collections, often involving senior executives and strategic business operations.
You will represent the company with authority and professionalism, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry best practices while maintaining discretion and confidentiality. International travel will be required to oversee and conduct on-site collections, requiring a strong presence, adaptability to different business cultures, and the ability to navigate complex environments.
Beyond hands-on forensic work, you will be responsible for mentoring and developing junior and mid-level team members, providing technical and strategic oversight, conducting quality reviews, and ensuring adherence to best practices. You will also contribute to business development initiatives by strengthening client relationships, identifying opportunities for service expansion, and supporting thought leadership in the forensic and eDiscovery space. This is a hybrid role based in our London office.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic discussions, helping clients navigate cross-border data challenges.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing expert guidance on data collection, preservation strategies, and investigative methodologies for litigation, regulatory investigations, and corporate matters.
- Engage with senior executives, legal teams, and regulators, effectively communicating complex forensic concepts in a clear and actionable manner.
- Independently manage projects end-to-end, acting as the primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring high-quality execution, clear communication, resource management, and budget control, while adhering to industry best practices.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities, resources, and deadlines while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Conduct detailed reviews of forensic workflows and deliverables, ensuring technical accuracy, legal defensibility, and compliance with best practices.
- Work closely with cross-border teams to ensure consistency in forensic methodologies and client engagement strategies.
- Ensure that stakeholders are informed throughout projects, providing strategic insights and recommendations.
- Represent the company in client meetings, industry conferences, and internal presentations, providing expert insights on digital forensics and eDiscovery trends.
Team Management, Development & Quality Control
- Manage direct report(s) ensuring clear communication, professional development, and alignment with strategic goals.
- Serve as a technical escalation point for analysts, offering support and guidance in forensic methodologies, troubleshooting technical challenges.
- Provide mentorship, training to analysts, fostering professional growth and technical expertise.
- Actively work to develop your own career by participating in mentorship programs, external training, and industry learning opportunities to stay ahead of evolving forensic and eDiscovery trends.
Technical Expertise & Innovation
- Expertise in digital forensic tools and workflows.
- Experience in cloud forensics, with knowledge of Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, AWS, and Azure collection and investigation techniques.
- Expertise in device forensics, including mobile, endpoint, and IoT investigations, with proficiency in tools such as Cellebrite, Oxygen Forensics, and Magnet AXIOM.
- Proficiency in data preservation from bespoke business systems, including custom databases, proprietary enterprise applications, or industry-specific platforms.
- Proactively research, test, and implement new forensic tools and workflows to optimise efficiency and improve forensic capabilities.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues related to data integrity, preservation, and extraction.
On-Site Data Collections & Travel
- Travel internationally and domestically to conduct data collections, particularly for senior executives, key corporate personnel, or cases requiring management expertise and oversight.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in forensic computing or equivalent relevant experience.
- Industry-recognised certifications in digital forensics or related disciplines (e.g., EnCE, CFCE, CCE) or relevant fields.
- Experience in digital forensics, data preservation, and eDiscovery, particularly in complex litigation, regulatory, or corporate investigation environments.
- Strong consulting capabilities, with a proven track record of managing large-scale forensic investigations and data collections, including high-profile and cross-border matters.
- Ability to translate complex technical forensic findings into strategic recommendations for clients and stakeholders.
- Experience managing cross-border investigations, with an understanding of data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and compliance frameworks.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to operate independently in high-pressure environments.
