Conserv is a Middlesbrough manufacturer producing traditional lime mortars, plasters and specialist building materials used in the repair and conservation of buildings throughout the UK.
We’re looking for a hardworking Production Operative to join our production team, working regular hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
This is a physically demanding, hands‑on job. It will suit someone who is used to hard physical work, enjoys being active and prefers a practical job rather than sitting at a desk.
Full training is provided. Previous manufacturing experience is not essential.
Typical duties include:
- Mixing and manufacturing building materials
- Filling, weighing, packing and labelling bags
- Moving raw materials and finished products
- Loading and unloading deliveries
- Operating production machinery once trained
- Cleaning machinery and production areas
- General warehouse and production work

You should:
- Turn up reliably and on time
- Be comfortable with sustained physical work
- Be able to follow instructions and established working methods
- Work carefully and safely
- Take responsibility for the quality of your work
- Be willing to learn
- Work well as part of a small team
Experience in labouring, construction, manufacturing, warehousing, removals, landscaping or another physically demanding job would be useful, but it is not essential.
A current counterbalance forklift truck licence is an advantage but is not required.
The role is initially offered on a fixed-term contract, with the intention of offering continuing employment to someone who proves to be a good fit for the role and the team.
