An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join a growing and well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a wide range of projects across the North of Scotland. This is the ideal role for a motivated Quantity Surveyor who is looking to take ownership of the commercial performance of diverse infrastructure schemes, including civil engineering, horizontal directional drilling (HDD), multi-utilities, and renewable energy projects. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, profitably, and to the highest standards, while working closely with operational teams and senior management.
The successful Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the full commercial management of projects from contract award through to final account. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing project costs, budgets, valuations, and variations
- Procuring and administering subcontractor packages
- Preparing and submitting applications for payment
- Monitoring commercial performance and forecasting project outcomes
- Identifying risks and opportunities across projects
- Supporting site and project teams with commercial advice
- Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor who has:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role
- Experience within civil engineering, utilities, or groundworks
- Strong commercial acumen and contractual knowledge
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
