We are recruiting on behalf of a major construction consultancy with an excellent reputation for delivering complex built environment projects safely and to the highest standards. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Consultant to join their specialist team. You will provide expert health and safety guidance across a varied portfolio of construction projects, supporting clients from pre-construction through to completion. CDM 2015 experience is essential, and candidates with Principal Designer experience will be at a distinct advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising on and ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 Regulations across multiple projects
  • Preparing and reviewing pre-construction information, construction phase plans, and H&S files
  • Conducting site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Acting as Principal Designer on suitable projects (desirable)
  • Providing competent H&S advice to clients, contractors, and design teams
  • Supporting incident investigation and near-miss reporting
  • Contributing to internal training and continual improvement

Requirements:

  • Solid, demonstrable experience in H&S within construction or the built environment
  • Strong working knowledge of CDM 2015 — essential
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or higher (Diploma preferred)
  • IOSH membership (TechIOSH minimum; CMIOSH desirable)
  • Principal Designer experience — highly advantageous
  • Strong communication skills and confidence engaging at all levels
  • Full UK driving licence
