Overview

In this role you will own the end-to-end procurement for allocated packages on hyperscale data centre projects, ensuring strategies, documentation and evaluations align with the client’s programme and risk framework. You will collaborate with delivery partners, contractors and suppliers to secure timely, compliant awards and manage long-lead equipment risks. The position offers international exposure across UK, EMEA and APAC with senior leadership interaction and significant impact on project delivery. Responsibilities

  • Review procurement strategies, plans and package schedules
  • Check RFP scope, pricing schedules, evaluation criteria and contract conditions
  • Review and challenge tender documentation before issue
  • Attend supplier clarification meetings and manage bidder queries to close-out
  • Review bid levelling, normalisation and evaluation scoring
  • Assess contract award recommendations for compliance, value and risk
  • Prepare client-side assessments and obtain required approvals
  • Maintain procurement schedules against construction needs and programme dates
  • Monitor long-lead equipment, slots, lead times and delivery risks
  • Procure MEP packages, electrical and mechanical equipment, consultants and professional services
  • Provide weekly package status, risks and decisions
  • Capture lessons learned for future tenders and projects

Key requirements

  • 10+ years' experience in construction or engineering procurement/commercial roles
  • Experience managing tenders from RFP to contract award
  • Experience working for a PMC, main contractor, hyperscale/colocation owner or similar
  • Strong data centre or mission-critical project experience
  • Experience procuring MEP packages, long-lead electrical/mechanical equipment and professional services
  • Knowledge of NEC, FIDIC or JCT and client-specific contract terms
  • Experience managing procurement across multiple countries in EMEA or APAC
  • Strong commercial analysis and bid levelling skills, with advanced Excel capability
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Leadership and stakeholder management experience
  • MCIPS, MRICS or equivalent qualification advantageous
  • Experience using procurement platforms such as Ariba, Coupa or similar
  • Second language relevant to EMEA or APAC markets beneficial
