An ambitious and technically accomplished Architectural Technologist / Senior Architectural Technologist is required to join a forward-thinking, award-winning architectural practice based in Harrogate.
This large, design-led Chartered practice is renowned for delivering high-profile projects across the commercial, retail, logistics, and residential sectors, many exceeding 100m in value. The Role
This is a hands-on, project-running role with scope to take ownership of schemes and contribute strategically to their delivery and development, working within a fully integrated Revit / BIM Level 2 environment. Depending on your level of experience, you will either:
- Lead projects independently (Senior level), acting as a key client contact and overseeing delivery from concept through to completion
- Support and grow into a job-running position, gaining exposure across all RIBA stages
You will work closely with Directors and multidisciplinary teams, contributing to both the technical excellence and commercial success of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing projects across all RIBA stages (0-7)
- Leading client engagement, briefing, and feasibility studies
- Preparing and submitting planning applications
- Producing high-quality technical and construction drawing packages
- Coordinating with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders
- Attending and leading site meetings, ensuring quality and compliance
- Supporting the development of project workflows and mentoring junior team members (Senior level)
About You
We are keen to speak with both experienced Technologists and established Senior Technologists who are passionate about technical design and delivery.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong working knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction detailing
- Proven experience delivering projects on site in a job-running or senior capacity
- Proficiency in Revit and a good understanding of BIM methodologies
- Experience producing detailed construction/working drawing packages
- Confidence in client-facing roles and leading site meetings
- Excellent communication, coordination, and organisational skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and work across multiple projects
Qualifications:
- Degree in Architectural Technology (or equivalent), or HNC/HND MCIAT (or working towards) desirable
Desirable:
- Experience across commercial, logistics, retail, or large-scale residential schemes
- Familiarity with NBS Create
- Understanding of Principal Designer responsibilities (CDM)
- Experience mentoring or leading team members (Senior level)
