We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join a well-established and growing building services contractor delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical projects across commercial, residential, and industrial sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to play a key role in securing profitable work and supporting continued business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical installations and associated works
- Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to determine project requirements
- Conduct site visits where necessary to assess project scope and constraints
- Source and negotiate prices with suppliers and subcontractors
- Produce detailed bills of quantities and cost breakdowns
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify technical queries
- Identify value engineering opportunities to ensure competitive tenders
- Maintain and update a cost database for labour, materials, and subcontractors
- Ensure all estimates comply with current regulations and industry standards
Requirements
- Proven experience working as an Electrical Estimator within the building services or construction industry
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and relevant UK regulations
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Experience using estimating software and Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet strict deadlines

- Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or similar)
