We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join a well-established and growing building services contractor delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical projects across commercial, residential, and industrial sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to play a key role in securing profitable work and supporting continued business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical installations and associated works
  • Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to determine project requirements
  • Conduct site visits where necessary to assess project scope and constraints
  • Source and negotiate prices with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Produce detailed bills of quantities and cost breakdowns
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify technical queries
  • Identify value engineering opportunities to ensure competitive tenders
  • Maintain and update a cost database for labour, materials, and subcontractors
  • Ensure all estimates comply with current regulations and industry standards

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as an Electrical Estimator within the building services or construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and relevant UK regulations
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Experience using estimating software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet strict deadlines

Desirable

  • Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or similar)
  • Experience working on commercial or large-scale residential projects
  • Understanding of mechanical services integration
