An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Civil Engineer with experience in drainage and flood risk to join a highly respected engineering consultancy in Bath. Working on a diverse portfolio of complex infrastructure projects across the UK, this role offers the chance to develop innovative engineering solutions on schemes where no two projects are the same.
Our client has built an outstanding reputation for delivering bespoke drainage and infrastructure designs for prestigious developments, including heritage sites, university campuses, private estates and nationally significant projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to broaden their technical expertise while working on challenging and rewarding schemes.
The successful candidate will play a key role in producing Flood Risk Assessments, drainage strategies and SuDS designs, undertaking drainage calculations, designing surface and foul water systems, and preparing applications for statutory authorities and water companies. The role also involves working closely with clients, local authorities, Lead Local Flood Authorities and the Environment Agency, with opportunities to undertake site inspections and supervise specialist investigations.
Applicants should have at least 2 years' consultancy experience and a good understanding of UK drainage design, flood risk and sustainable drainage principles. Experience preparing Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategy reports, along with strong report writing and communication skills, is essential. A degree in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline), a full UK driving licence and the ability to obtain CTC/Level 1B Security Clearance are required. Progress towards Chartership with ICE or CIWEM would be advantageous.
