Great opportunity for an Associate level civil engineer to join our client and work on the design and delivery of infrastructure projects across a variety of sectors. Role Overview: As an Associate Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the technical delivery of key infrastructure projects, including road and drainage design, sustainable urban drainage systems (SuDS), and civil building construction. You will play a vital role in leading multiple teams, managing a variety of projects, and ensuring that the technical and financial aspects of each project are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Reporting directly to the Director, you will be an integral part of the senior leadership team, helping to shape the future direction of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, planning, and technical delivery of civil engineering projects, including road, drainage, SuDS, and civil building construction.
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and support to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that each one is delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with client specifications.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies, ensuring clear communication and effective management of expectations.
  • Contribute to business development efforts by identifying new project opportunities, assisting with bids, and maintaining existing client relationships.
  • Ensure that all projects meet relevant industry standards, regulations, and sustainability requirements.
  • Provide technical reviews and sign-off on project deliverables, including designs, reports, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with other teams within the company to deliver integrated solutions for complex projects.

Key Requirements:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (Chartered status or working towards it is preferred).
  • Extensive experience in civil engineering design and project management, with a focus on infrastructure projects such as road design, drainage, SuDS, and civil building construction.
  • Proven experience in managing a team and leading projects from conception through to completion.
  • Strong technical skills with a solid understanding of relevant software tools and design principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to think creatively and find innovative solutions.
  • A strong commitment to quality, health & safety, and environmental sustainability.
  • Experience in promoting business growth and developing new client relationships is a distinct advantage.
