Conrad Consulting is working with a leading multidisciplinary consultancy that is looking to strengthen its established London Building Surveying team with the appointment of a Senior Chartered Building Surveyor. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced MRICS Building Surveyor to take on a senior position within a highly respected consultancy, working with major clients and a diverse portfolio of property across London and the wider UK. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take ownership of client relationships, deliver complex professional instructions and lead a variety of building surveying projects, while playing an important role in the continued growth of the wider team.

The Role

  • Leading a broad range of professional building surveying instructions.
  • Undertaking technical due diligence, building and condition surveys.
  • Preparing detailed technical reports and schedules of works.
  • Providing defect diagnosis and strategic property advice.
  • Delivering project-based instructions from inception through to completion.
  • Preparing specifications, tender documentation and contract administration.
  • Acting as Contract Administrator on a range of refurbishment and maintenance projects.
  • Managing client relationships and developing repeat business.
  • Supporting junior surveyors and contributing to the development of the wider team.
  • Working collaboratively with project managers, quantity surveyors, engineers and other multidisciplinary professionals.

You will have considerable autonomy within the role, with the opportunity to work across a varied client portfolio and take responsibility for technically challenging and commercially significant instructions.

About You

  • MRICS qualified with a Building Surveying degree or relevant equivalent qualification.
  • Experienced within a consultancy environment.
  • Strong across both professional and project-based building surveying.
  • Technically competent with excellent knowledge of building pathology and construction.
  • Experienced in contract administration, specifications and project delivery.
  • Confident managing client relationships and delivering a high level of service.
  • Commercially aware with the ability to identify opportunities and contribute to business development.
  • A strong communicator who can work effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Keen to take the next step in their career within a large, established consultancy.
