The Role – Senior Urban Designer
As a Senior Urban Designer, you will lead on urban design strategies, masterplanning and placemaking projects, ensuring high‑quality outcomes that prioritise sustainability, community engagement and design innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of urban design initiatives, masterplans and design codes
- Provide strategic design leadership across a variety of impactful projects
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and local authorities
- Oversee and mentor junior designers, fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration
- Ensure compliance with UK planning policies and design standards
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 10 years\’ experience in UK Urban Design
- Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in urban design, regeneration and placemaking
- Excellent knowledge of UK planning policy and procedures
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp and GIS (Revit experience advantageous)
- Strong leadership, communication and client‑facing skills
- Passion for sustainable design and community‑focused development
