Quantity Surveyor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure, roads, earthworks, utilities and public sector projects across the Central Belt of Scotland.

This Quantity Surveyor position offers the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of projects while developing your commercial career within a supportive and growing business.

The successful Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in managing the commercial performance of multiple projects from tender through to final account, ensuring financial objectives are achieved while maintaining excellent relationships with clients, subcontractors and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the commercial delivery of civil engineering projects.

Prepare cost reports, forecasts and monthly valuations.

Procure subcontractors and negotiate subcontract agreements.

Assess subcontractor applications and prepare payments.

Manage variations, compensation events and final accounts.

Monitor project costs and identify commercial risks.

Prepare financial reports for senior management.

Work closely with Project Managers and Site Teams to maximise project profitability.

Assist with contract administration and compliance.

Build strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or construction.

Good understanding of NEC contracts.

Strong commercial awareness.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

Strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel.

Full UK Driving Licence.
