Conrad Consulting are recruiting for an experienced and commercially driven Head of London Building Surveying to lead, develop and grow an established Building Surveying team within a highly regarded property consultancy. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a MRICS Building Surveyor with a strong track record in team leadership, business development and client relationship management. The successful candidate will take strategic responsibility for the continued growth and performance of the London Building Surveying practice, while playing a key role in the wider development of the business. You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and Partners to develop the London Building Surveying strategy, strengthen existing client relationships, win new instructions and build a high-performing team capable of delivering exceptional service across a diverse range of sectors including Residential, Retail, Office, Commercial and Leisure. The Role As Head of London Building Surveying, you will: Lead, manage and develop the London Building Surveying team. Take responsibility for the growth, profitability and performance of the service line. Develop and implement the business plan for the London Building Surveying practice. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, developers, investors, lenders and professional contacts. Identify and secure new business opportunities and strategic instructions. Prepare and present fee proposals, tenders and client presentations. Develop existing accounts and maximise cross-selling opportunities across the wider consultancy. Act as a senior ambassador for the business within the London property market. Provide leadership, mentoring and career development to Surveyors, Senior Surveyors and Graduates. Support recruitment, succession planning and the continued expansion of the team. Drive APC development and professional progression. Manage workload, resources, utilisation, fee income and pipeline forecasting. Contribute to wider business planning, budgeting and strategic growth initiatives. Maintain high standards of technical delivery, client service, governance and professional compliance. Promote innovation, best practice and knowledge sharing across the Building Consultancy business. About You We are looking for an established Building Surveying professional who combines technical credibility with strong commercial and leadership skills. You will ideally have: A degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline. MRICS qualification. Proven leadership experience within a Building Surveying or multidisciplinary consultancy. A strong track record of managing and developing teams. Demonstrable success in business development, client acquisition and revenue generation. Significant experience delivering Building Surveying and Building Consultancy services across commercial and residential property. Experience managing major client relationships and strategic accounts. Strong commercial awareness and financial management skills. Experience preparing fee proposals and winning new instructions. An established network of contacts within the London property market. Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills. The confidence and credibility to operate at senior leadership and client level. Most importantly, you will be commercially minded, entrepreneurial and ambitious, with the ability to develop both people and business. What's on Offer?
