Our client is seeking an experienced Structural or Senior Structural Engineer to join their established consultancy, delivering projects across the commercial and residential sectors. This is a home-based role with a regional workload centred around Manchester, offering a high level of flexibility and autonomy.
The successful candidate will undertake structural inspections, assessments and calculations for a diverse portfolio of new and existing buildings. Responsibilities will include:
- Structural surveys and inspections
- Beam and steelwork design
- Structural calculations for roofs and other building elements
- Assessments of steel, concrete, masonry and timber structures
- Producing clear technical reports and recommendations
- Liaising directly with clients and managing projects independently
There is also the opportunity to become involved in structural design reviews, feasibility studies and technical due diligence work.
Applicants should hold a recognised Civil or Structural Engineering degree and have experience working independently on a variety of building structures. Chartered status (MIStructE or MICE) is desirable, although engineers working towards chartership are encouraged to apply, with full mentoring and support available.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong structural analysis and design skills
- Experience with steel, masonry, concrete and timber structures
- Excellent report writing and communication abilities
- Confidence managing client relationships and site inspections
- A full UK driving licence
