Our client is an established and expanding consultancy with a growing transport planning team in Manchester. Due to continued project wins and an increasing workload, the business is seeking an experienced Senior Transport Planner to join the team and take responsibility for delivering a diverse range of development-led transport projects.
The role offers the chance to work across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial and mixed-use schemes throughout the UK. The successful candidate will play a key role in producing Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Transport Statements and other technical reports, while also contributing to Environmental Impact Assessments and wider multidisciplinary projects.
A strong understanding of UK transport policy and the planning system is essential, along with sound knowledge of sustainable transport, active travel and the relationship between new developments and existing transport infrastructure. Experience using TRICS, TEMPro, Junctions, LinSIG and TRANSYT would be highly beneficial.
As a senior member of the team, the successful candidate will have regular contact with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders. The position will also involve attending project meetings, assisting with fee proposals and contributing to business development, alongside providing guidance and support to less experienced members of the transport planning team.
Applicants should have a degree or Master's qualification in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or a related subject. Membership or accreditation with CIHT, CILT, TPP or ICE would be advantageous. Strong Microsoft Office skills are required, while knowledge of AutoCAD or GIS would be an added benefit.
