One of our key clients has an opportunity for an experienced Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer to join our client's growing multidisciplinary consultancy in London. The role offers the chance to work on a diverse range of brownfield, residential, mixed-use and major regeneration projects across London and the South East, working closely with civil, structural and geotechnical teams.
The successful candidate will take a leading role in delivering geo-environmental assessments, contaminated land advice and remediation strategies from initial investigation through to project completion. Responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing and interpreting ground investigation and geo-environmental reports
- Preparing Phase 1 and Phase 2 assessments, GQRA and groundwater DQRA
- Developing Conceptual Site Models and remediation strategies
- Managing ground investigations and laboratory testing
- Liaising with Local Authorities, the Environment Agency and other stakeholders
- Supporting planning submissions and discharge of planning conditions
- Managing projects, budgets and client relationships
- Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to business development
Candidates should be degree qualified in Geology, Environmental Science, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline, with strong UK consultancy experience in geo-environmental engineering. A proven background in contaminated land assessment and brownfield redevelopment, together with knowledge of LCRM, CLR11, C4SLs and Environment Agency guidance, is essential. Experience of Human Health Risk Assessment, groundwater DQRA and ground investigation interpretation is required. Chartered status or progress towards SiLC, CGeol or CEnv would be advantageous.
