Are you an experienced Architectural Technologist who enjoys the technical challenges of architecture, thrives on taking responsibility and wants to work somewhere that offers genuine project variety? Conrad Consulting is working in partnership with a well-established and growing architectural practice in Leeds seeking to appoint a talented Senior Architectural Technologist to join its collaborative team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically accomplished, confident job runner who enjoys taking ownership of projects, coordinating technical information and working closely with clients, consultants and contractors. The practice offers a particularly attractive combination of varied projects, professional development and a genuinely enjoyable working environment. The Practice & Working Environment Our client is an established architectural practice delivering an interesting and diverse portfolio of projects across multiple sectors. One of the biggest attractions of this opportunity is the variety of work available. Rather than spending your time producing repetitive drawing packages for the same type of development, you'll have the opportunity to work on different building types, project scales and technical challenges. The team operates from a modern, open-plan studio, creating a friendly and collaborative environment where Architects and Technologists work closely together. The practice also places considerable importance on its people and workplace culture. There's a healthy, active and sociable atmosphere, with regular team events throughout the year and a genuine commitment to creating a positive environment where employees feel valued and supported. The Role – Senior Architectural Technologist The successful candidate will take a leading role in the technical development, coordination and delivery of architectural projects. We're particularly interested in speaking with experienced Technologists who have developed the confidence and technical capability to independently run projects, rather than solely working in a production or drawing-focused capacity. Responsibilities will include Independently managing and delivering architectural projects through the technical and construction stages. Producing and coordinating detailed technical drawing packages and construction information. Taking responsibility for technical design development and construction detailing. Coordinating architectural information with structural engineers, M&E consultants and other project stakeholders. Liaising directly with clients, contractors, consultants and statutory authorities. Managing technical information to ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations. Attending design team meetings and resolving technical and construction-related issues. Supporting and mentoring junior Technologists and Technicians. Working collaboratively with Architects and senior colleagues throughout the project lifecycle. Ideally, applicants will demonstrate: An HNC, HND, degree or equivalent qualification in Architectural Technology or a related discipline. Approximately 5+ years' professional experience within UK architectural practice. Proven experience independently running projects or leading technical delivery. Excellent construction knowledge and strong technical detailing capabilities. Experience producing and coordinating comprehensive technical drawing packages. A thorough understanding of UK Building Regulations and construction methods. Confidence coordinating multidisciplinary consultants and communicating with contractors. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple project priorities. A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach. MCIAT accreditation would be advantageous but is not essential. Revit proficiency would be beneficial, although it is not a prerequisite for the right candidate. Experienced Technologists with strong AutoCAD backgrounds are encouraged to apply, with Revit training and ongoing development available. What's on Offer? £40,000 – £50,000 salary, dependent on experience. An interesting and varied portfolio of architectural projects. Genuine job-running responsibility and technical autonomy. Revit training and continued professional development. Modern, open-plan office with a collaborative atmosphere. A friendly, healthy and active working culture. Regular company social events and team activities. Paid professional membership fees. Ongoing CPD and in-house training. Two paid charity days per year. Cycle to Work scheme. Enhanced annual leave entitlement linked to service. Office closure between Christmas and New Year. Long-term opportunities for career progression and development. Interested?
