A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Architectural Technologist to join a well-established, award-winning Architectural Practice based in the Leeds area, LS20. Our client has built an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality projects across a broad range of sectors including Education, Industrial, Commercial, Logistics & Distribution, Sport & Leisure, Residential, Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Justice. With a healthy pipeline of secured work and continued growth, they are now looking to strengthen their technical team with the appointment of a technically accomplished Senior Architectural Technologist.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical challenge of complex projects and wants to play a leading role in delivering schemes from detailed design through to completion.
The Role
Working within an experienced multidisciplinary team, you will take responsibility for the technical delivery of projects from RIBA Stage 4 through to completion, ensuring schemes are coordinated, compliant and delivered to the highest standards. Projects typically range from large-scale developments valued in excess of £20 million, offering genuine technical variety and the opportunity to work alongside leading consultants and Tier 1 contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical delivery of projects through RIBA Stages 4-7.
- Produce, coordinate and review detailed construction information.
- Develop practical, compliant and buildable technical solutions.
- Coordinate architectural information with structural, civil and MEP consultants.
- Review subcontractor and specialist supplier information.
- Resolve technical and construction-related issues throughout project delivery.
- Attend design team meetings, technical workshops and site visits.
- Carry out technical reviews and quality assurance checks.
- Mentor and support junior Architectural Technologists and Technicians.
- Ensure compliance with current UK Building Regulations, Building Safety legislation and industry standards.
- Work across multiple projects while maintaining programme and quality objectives.
Applicants should ideally possess:
- Minimum 5 years' post qualification experience as an Architectural Technologist.
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Architectural Technology.
- Strong experience delivering projects through the technical stages of design.
- Excellent technical detailing and construction knowledge.
- Advanced Revit skills (essential).
- Experience working within BIM environments and Common Data Environments (CDEs).
- Knowledge of NBS Chorus would be advantageous.
- Strong communication and coordination skills with experience working alongside consultants and contractors.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and mentor less experienced team members.
